It can't be Lord of the Flies time here, unfortunately, so we have some rules. Don't worry, it's easy to work within them.
1) Firstly, just for my own sanity, know that I am not in any way associated with the cast or crew of LOST. This is for entertainment only.
2) This is a semi-literate role-playing site. This means that you must: a) have a decent grasp on dialogue and sentence structure, and b) write at least two paragraphs per post. Be as detailed and descriptive as possible. In a similar vein, try to self-edit your posts as much as you can. I want to keep the site high-quality, so do your best to write well!
3) Please keep the RP at PG-13. This means no swear words beyond the occasional "bastard", violence with some blood but no dismemberment, and some sexual content but no actual sex. If you think at any point an RP thread is going to go beyond that bound, edit the title of the thread to include an age rating, i.e., "Thread Title Here (18+)".
4) I know this is LOST. I know dead is dead. That being said, don't kill anyone. Death is going to be an extremely rare thing on this RP, and if it does occur, will be debated extensively by the staff and the characters involved. The reason for this is that we want people to be able to develop their characters without fear of being axed unceremoniously.
5) No God-moding/power-playing. This means you can only control YOUR CHARACTER, not the character you are interacting with. You need to wait for the other character to respond in a thread before you can react. If you're unsure about godmoding, or have questions about it, ask any of the administrators.
6) One account per person. (This is negotiable; based on your activeness and the RP's need, we may let a few members take two characters.)
7) Do NOT post as another member of the site, especially in the CBox. I can't stress this enough. Impersonating another member will most surely get you banned from the site.
8) If you have been inactive without notice (i.e. not posting anywhere and not giving notice at The Donkey Wheel) for a month, we have the right to give your character to a member who is willing to play them, or put up the character as available.
9) Please realize that we are not our characters. I am not an insane sociopath, and if I act as such in an in-character role-play, it's not because I hate you. Conversely, if you feel someone is bullying you or otherwise disrespecting you, let us know. We'll look into the situation.
10) In regards to the CBox: all general rules apply - no extreme swearing, nothing disrespectful, don't impersonate other members, etc. In addition, please don't link to anything that would be deemed Not Safe for Work in the CBox.
11) Have fun!!! That's the whole point of the RP anyway.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me.
