Ben stood by a rather large bungalow, arms crossed, staring up into the sky. His electric blue eyes darted back and forth, as if he was looking for something, something to focus on. He bit his lip. if his calculations were correct, the boat carrying the new Oceanic High School students should have arrived on the beach not long ago. That meant, soon enough, they would find their way to the Oceanic HS grounds.
Ben smirked a little. He loved meeting a new batch of students. Things had been boring as of late, seeing as there weren't any students to teach, to torment, to build up, to destroy. Ben's smirk grew wider. This group was going to be different from the last. He could already feel it. The roster of names he'd recieved was enough to intrigue him. He was sure that this year would be interesting, for as long as it lasted. As long as they lasted.
Ben glanced to his side. He could've sworn he heard something, but there was nothing - no one - there. His eyes returned to the sky. It was an immaculate shade of light blue.
"A perfect day," Ben mused in a light, clipped voice, fully aware that no one was around to hear him.

As Charlie climbed out of the submarine and made his way to the dock he had to put his hand up to block the sun from his eyes. Not only was the sun strong but he was still getting the after effects of the drugs they used on the sub to put everyone to sleep on the way to the island and it didn't help that we was already high before getting on the submarine.
As a headache began to creep into his head Charlie groaned, annoyed. He put his bag on the ground and began to search for his sun glasses and about five seconds later he found them. With a smile he pulled them out of his bag and went to put them on when someone bumped into him, knocking the glasses right out of his hand and into the water. "Bullocks" he muttered to himself before looking up. "Oi... next time watch where you're going" he said to the back of quite a big guy with long messy hair "sorry dude" he replied. Charlie groaned and got up to begin walking.
It was a hell of a walk from the sub to the school and if it wasn't for the bottles of water most people might not have made it. As they reached the school Charlie saw the figure of a man, standing under a bungalow. He drank some water and continued the rest of the way. When they all reached the man, Charlie was doubled over, with his hands on his knees, he really had to quit using it was killing his stamina, and not to mention killing him. He looked at the man and noticed he kind of looked like a bug "bloody hell... you could not have... made this school... any further away... if you tried" he said while trying to catch his breath.

Ben heard the boy's heavy breathing for a couple of minutes before he basically doubled over in front of him, gasping and sweating. Ben could tell from his blonde shaggy hair that this was Charlie Pace. He recalled from his files that Charlie... may or may not have a drug problem. And it may or may not have gotten him kicked out of his last school.
"Bloody hell... you could not have... made this school... any further away... if you tried."
"It's a good thing I didn't try then," Ben responded slowly and with an easygoing smile. "Well, maybe an introduction is in order. Benjamin Linus." Ben extended his hand. Melting Charlie's brain wasn't going to work, seeing as his brain was already fried from drugs or alcohol or exercise. "You look a bit pale. It's a beautiful day, but I can see where the weather could get a bit unbearable."

Still doubled over, hands on knees, and finishing to catch his breath, Charlie looked up slightly and chuckled a little at the man's comment about not trying "good point there." Charlie cleared his throat, as he got his breath back, and stood up normally, he raised an eyebrow slightly as the man mentioned introductions, he had never been introduced like this to a teacher before and he guessed this guy was either principal or teacher.
As Ben introduced himself Charlie placed his suitcase and guitar case on the grass, just to let his hands relax a little "I'm Charlie Pace." The name sounded familiar, since they were all told who their teachers were just after entering the sub but Charlie was high and couldn't really remember where Ben's name came up. While looking around Charlie didn't see anyone else under the Bungalow so he decided to take a guess at Ben's position in the school "so are you the head master here?"

Ben watched Charlie put his things down on the ground and then shook his hand, looking into his eyes. Dilated pupils and red whites. Yes, the kid was definitely using something. Red eyes weren't a typical reaction to submarine tranquilizer - hallucinations, every once in a while, but dilation wasn't normal.
Charlie looked around. Ben wasn't quite sure what he was doing, but since he was high on SOMETHING, odds were Charlie didn't really know what he was doing, either. Ben made a mental note to self to have someone check his luggage thoroughly before he moved in. The last thing he needed was half a dormitory snorting crack after-hours.
"So are you the headmaster here?"
Ben laughed, a somewhat clipped sound. Charlie had caught him a bit off-guard with his question. Not that it was a serious question, but still, Charlie hadn't exactly telegraphed where the conversation was going.
He probably doesn't KNOW where the conversation's going, Ben thought.
"No," Ben responded lightly, "but I am second-in-command. I teach Latin. And you'll probably have me in your homeroom." Ben smirked, hoping he didn't come off as too creepy. Charlie would have to be handled delicately, especially when he was loaded like this. Ben glanced at the guitar. "You play music, I gather."
