Sawyer remained silent, but followed right behind her as she trudged through the jungle. Thinking back on the earlier experiences of the day and began to think that Ben wasn't the wost thing to happen to him today. That was of no comfort. When that was even in the realm of possibilities it meant there was something seriously wrong with the world. Or just something seriously wrong with him. He wasn't going to make this up easily, but he would make it up. Kate would be mad for awhile, probably a long while, but she would get over it. They always did. Again, the idea was of little consolation.
He hoped that when she turned around, deciding they were at least on speaking terms, that she would be over it, and ready to move past it. Instead she yelled. He deserved it, and it was better than silence, but still hurt more than he liked. "Anything but what?" Sawyer snarled back. He had been called a good number of things in his life, and found that he liked to be the one doing the name calling and not the other way around.

"An asshole," she yelled at him again. The yelling made her feel good. She always had a hard time keeping her emotions in. She was an emotional person, but felt that being emotional was weak. So she tried her best to keep it in. Usually, she failed.
She tried to keep walking, hoping he'd give up. But yet, she doubted it. She wasn't going to look at him again, however, and hope he'd get the hint. She took off towards the jungle, beginning to work her way through the thicket of branches.

Well, at least he knew where he stood now. it was true, but he had apologized. Sawyer was becoming less and less sympathetic and more and more mad. It wasn't like she was the only one who was screwed up. Hell, he had it on good authority that there was something screwed up about everyone on this island. If this had been anyone else he would be halfway to the other side of the island by now. But this was freckles and that made it different. But it didn't mean he wasn't going to get fed up with her.
Still, he followed behind her, knowing that she didn't have anything better to do. They both had somewhere to be, but it was a little late for that. If they were to get back to the school grounds they would likely get some sort of slap on the wrist. And it wasn't like she could avoid him forever, or even a day. The school was small, and they would be stuck there for a good while. "So what you're just gonna keep walking and hope I give it up and go away? We're gonna end up in the same place anyways."

Kate stopped and looked at him, her eyes seeming less angry and more sad. Her voice was barely a whisper, "No, we're not."
Suddenly, she took off into the forest. She was running at a break neck pace, trying desperately to get away. She was always running for one reason or another. she hadn't wanted to do this to him. She liked him, but he had made her feel uncomfortable and she needed to get away. She couldn't do uncomfortable. She just couldn't process or deal with that feeling.
((OOC:: Kuku, if you want to do one more post you can, and then we will close this thread. I'm trying to do a time-line that connects with my new Kate/ Jack thread.))

((OOC: Sure, sounds good! Hooray for comprehensive timelines! ^_^))
Sawyer gave it up then. Not for good, but for now. He knew that she would eventually get over it and he was just going to have to wait it out for now. There wasn't anything else he could do, and still retain his manly pride. "Women" he muttered with a scoff, before turning back to the beach. He was reminded why he didn't like to get involved. Unless there was something to gain. He had no idea if Kate had anything to offer that he would want, but he was sure he would be chasing her again in the near future.
Once he got back to the beach he kicked at the sand in frustration before flopping down on the beach. He was going to have to calm down himself. He wasn't getting anywhere by being pissed off, and neither was she. There would be a long road ahead of them though. He would follow it for now, and just hope there would be an exit if he needed one. Then again, he could always just make one if he had to.
